Slovakia has a large, well developed road network and the surfaces in towns and cities are generally of a very good standard, though standards in more rural areas cannot be relied on and some roads have fallen into a state of disrepair – not very many though. Slovak auto recovery services are fast and reliable in the main road systems and on the motorways. Public transport in the country is a strong point, with reliable, punctual and comfortable buses operating to most areas as well as affordable taxis, trolley buses and trams in Bratislava and a number of other towns. Rail travel is another strong point, with cheap and reliable service operating through the country at all times. Express services are also available, though these obviously cost more than standard fares. Air Slovakia, Slovak Airlines and SkyEurope Airlines all offer internal flights at regular intervals – these services are reliable and not too pricey. Regular passenger transport occurs on the main river passage through the country, the Danube, as well as frequent tourist cruises around the area. There are numerous inland ports and fishing villages and all can be reached via the network of waterways in the country.
